Australian artist — and Kathmandu team member! — Annelies Koch's design was inspired by a recent hike to Aoraki's Mueller Hut in New Zealand’s South Island.

“I hiked to Mueller Hut on the Sealy Range, overlooking Sealy Tarns and adjacent to Aoraki/Mt Cook. As there was no room in the hut, I pitched my tent and sat back to enjoy the spectacular views. This is the first place I had seen keas in their natural alpine environment, aside from in the car park at the beginning of the hike being mischievous and pecking away at the rubber seals holding peoples’ car windscreens in place. As a bird lover, I was astounded to see their movements and the fluorescent red colouring beneath their wings as they tussled about on snowy crags. To this day, this hike remains one of the most spectacular I have ever walked.”

This unique organic cotton T-shirt is printed in Living Ink, a carbon negative algae ink.
